ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Geoffrey Robinson (b. 1945) is a British painter whose work is strongly influenced by the St Ives tradition of Cornwall. Born in East Africa and raised partly in New Zealand, he studied painting at Bournemouth College of Art. After many years working in advertising, he became a full-time artist in the 1990s. His paintings combine lyrical abstraction, still life and nostalgic imagery, reflecting influences from artists such as Ben Nicholson and William Scott. His work has been exhibited widely in Britain and internationally.
